This series must set a record for killing off characters. As a long-time Star Trek fan, I admit I was disappointed. The first season of the series is extremely chaotic, with little sense of where it is going. For instance, by the end of the first season, the audience knows next to nothing about the majority of the bridge crew and we still have no permanent captain. This far into the series, and the basic building blocks of a successful Star Trek show (or any show) seem to be missing. I hope the second season will be more focused. The depiction of the Klingons was particularly bad and out of step with the rest of the Star Trek canon. The last few episodes, involving the mirror universe, were the best in my opinion. Also, as far as time management, the producers seem to waste an excessive amount of time on Engineer's Stamets romantic relationship, particularly in view of the lack of time spent on developing other characters and a coherent plot.
