I have owned quite a few TOS phaser replicas, but this one easily is the best I have ever seen. I have no plans to ever use it for controlling the TV, it is just proudly displayed in my collection. Such high quality construction and clear audio.

Good looking unit/presentation. Reasonably true to original. The remote operations are not quite what I expected. The movements required are 'lateral' with respect to the type 1 phaser. You need to learn, to move your arm sideways, avoid pivoting your wrist towards left/right/up/down. It's all about side movements, device pointing resolutely forward. Also, rotation must be performed along the main axis of the type 1 phaser. When hooked to the type 2, you need to rotate w/r to the type 1 phaser sitting on top, not intuitive initially. But with practice, you get the hang of it. The forward screw-like adjustment is flimsy, and sounds like it's eating through plastic internally. Its design should definitely be reviewed, this is not viable. I'd say, avoid playing with this screw mechanism. I don't dare touch it anymore, seems half broken now. The main body is made of two shells, they don`t quite fit together properly, there is a space inbetween near the front. Light comes out of it, when you pull the trigger. Again, for a device in this price range, I'd expect construction to be flawless. The above explain, my 4 star rating. Besides the above minor gripes, I'd recommend it to anyone fond of the series. This gadget is not for everyone, you have to be one of the few, who just know, you need to get one! I'm a happy camper.

The unit is gorgeous and highly detailed. a little problematic with gestures especially while mounted to the phaserII. Also when mounted to phaserII you have to make sure the pins are properly lined up. they don;t always do. As far as the aesthetics, the sound effects and visuals. it is fantastic *****

This outstanding piece of craftsmanship will only be used for display purposes only along with the communicator. And, what's great about this product is it has a usefulness about it if needed. And, it looks so super cool and, sexy. What's not so great about it? It could be a little bit more durable if you want to play around with it and, it's not the real thing!!!! Would love to blast alot of people with it!! Other than that, it's near perfect. Thanks for a great product. Now, if we can only get the Wand Company to put out the tricorder, hmmm....

I can't say enough about this product.. I would have bought one, even if it only had the FX,mode, but,the fact that it is also, a universal remote control, ,that's just amazing!!!. Note,to all star trek fan's,,, the only regret I have, is that I wish I purchaset the, remote Cotrole / Blue tooth comunicater combo pack.I didn't see the add until After my purchase. It's a great deal I mist out on. All in all,,, I'm still very pleased with remote Controle...Thanks, to all of you,at the STAR TREK SHOP.

emitter is crooked, again not centered. poor paint job; trigger sticks; does not function as intended after reading and trouble shooting; odd sizzling noises and cuts out. the quality and craftsmanship is embarrassing, poor, and falsely advertised and over priced.

I have it displayed with my other Star Trek memorabilia. Still take it out every once in a while to hear the realistic FX sounds.

So far it has wowed me with the total number of functions that are really fun to use and you will find yourself playing with it as you learn all of the different functions. You really have to turn it on, hold it in your hand, and pull that trigger to get the real feel of it`s (WOW) effect. I cant find any thing, at all, wrong with it.
