          Comments about this product:

I bought this thinking it would have some new material or at the least some new art work, But I was a little disappointed. The pictures are nice but as a long time fan and gamer I found it lacking in many ways. I hoped the cd would redeem it, but was again disapointed. There was a cd in the late 90s that was more inteactive than this was. It claimed a breathtaking 3D tour but was more of an exhale in disappointment!

          Comments about this product:

As an avid reader of Trek and a gamer I found this book-cd a bit disapointing. The writing is mostly geared toward kids as the phrasing is very basic. I've seen better from the Okudas, meaning the encyclopedias and tech manuals. As for the 3D CD, I'm aware of the technical achievement but, as a gamer, I miss the lack of interoperability as you have with most games. And you can't really go about the entire ship but just some very limited areas of the ship, Sickbay, Bridge and a very useless corridor. Judging by today's immersive video products this one is very disapointing.

            Comments about this product:

As an avid Star trek reader and gamer, this book combo is not what I expected. The book itself is (imho) directed towards young readers- if not kids- as the text is well basic and at times it falls into dumbed down for not Trek fans. As I said, maybe I'm accustomed at more indepth writing as other Trek literature. As to the 3D CD of the Enterprise, again, I may be to spoiled by more sophisticated offerings of Trek games to be dazled by this CD. I don't demean the extraordinary renderings of this product, but the lack of more interactive opportunities just makes me say "meh!". If it only had more content and wandering around the ship it would have been an out of this world product.

              Comments about this product:

For the price I paid for the book/CD, I was not satisfied with the purchase. This book will do very little for the avid STNG fan. It contains 40 pages of information that any true STNG fan would mostly already know. Despite what the description of the book says, there is not very much detail except for a few fold-outs of the ship, which I thought were the best part of the book. The only reason I still bought the book was in the hope that the included CD-ROM "virtual tour" would be more redeeming. It was not. The CD program is very simple. It only allows you to look around in six sections of the ship (one of them being the Cargo Bay, how exciting). The viewing is limited to a couple of vantage points in each section, so it is by no means a walking tour of the ship or even just parts of it.

So, if you are looking for something detailed and a true virtual tour of the USS Enterprise D, do not buy this product.
